The Flametree Villa

The once famous Flametree Restaurant has been fully renovated by new owners into a modern six-bedroom, five bathroom house where everyone has room to relax and enjoy the wonders of Rarotonga.

This rambling villa, with easy access and large living spaces, is situated in Muri with the beach and village (with cafes, restaurants and convenience stores) right on your doorstep.

A distinctive feature of the house is the large covered outdoor deck over the flowing stream (where unique fish life such as Koura, eels and freshwater fish species can be viewed), ideal for evening cocktails, functions or simply enjoying the shade and the wonderful climate of Rarotonga.

Or step through the gate, 50m along the park and you can enjoy the best swimming location in the lagoon, kayaking in our kayaks provided, snorkeling around the coral, paddle-boarding or relaxing in the sun.

The house has all new beds and modern appliances including generous fridge and freezer space for groups.

This is the ideal place for group accommodation for weddings, reunions, corporate events or any other special occasion. Full dining facilities for up to 50 people are available (with advanced request) onsite including seating, tables, tableware and linen.

If you are looking for the perfect holiday accommodation for your group of family or friends with a handy location, fully equipped kitchen and modern comfort and style, look no further than the Flametree Villa.

The People of the Flametree Villa
Proud owners of the Flametree Villa
Cindy and Mike

Owners of the Flametree Cindy and Mike Vining are based in Picton, New Zealand and have enjoyed coming to Rarotonga for over 6 years. They initially came to stay in Muri Village every year to help out with the annual team sailing regatta which brought kids together from all over the Cook Islands and New Zealand. They fell in love with the place and after a few years of looking, found the ideal property to call their own and share with the world.

Their dream was realised when they purchased what was the Flametree Restaurant in 2015. After over a year of renovations that included help from many different friends and family that would make the trip over from NZ, as well as some exceptional local talent, the transformation from restaurant to villa was made complete in April 2016. With the finishing touches of Cindy’s tasteful decorating and Mike’s practical view, they are extremely proud to welcome all future guests to the Flametree Villa and they hope you enjoy the place as much as they do.

Rex and Lorraine

Managers Rex and Lorraine were initially based in Christchurch, New Zealand and have been regularly holidaying in Rarotonga for over 20 years. Eventually the laid-back couple decided to opt for the island life and moved to Rarotonga over two and a half years ago – and they love it so much they haven’t left since!

Rex and Lorraine are based just over the fence to the Flametree and from this close proximity the two couples built a friendship and corresponded regularly. Rex loved being part of the renovations and was over every day helping the builders and tradesmen. With this strong base of trust and dedication the pair became the managers of the Flametree. During your stay if you need any assistance then Rex and Lorraine will be able to help and give you all the advice you need on what to see and do in Raro!
